I know it sounds corny and cheesy, but it really did start with love — a surprising, discovered love that has flourished and continues to grow. But before diving into love, let me share a bit about myself. I came from the city as a single mom looking for a fresh start in the country. A couple of friends and I bought this property together with hopes of building a community focused on shared interests, supporting each other, and embracing a simpler life. We grow our own food and raise animals to live in harmony, stepping away from the busyness of city life.
I unexpectedly found love in nature. The way it gently envelops you when least expected — the beauty of a serene meadow or blossoming garden can suddenly take your breath away. Slowing down and immersing myself in nature brings unexpected, fulfilling love. It reminds me that amidst life’s busyness, quiet, radiant love awaits when we pause to appreciate the simple things.
I discovered another love — my husband Chad Amy. Through shared passions and hard work on the land, we found each other and fell deeply in love. Three years after meeting, we married on our land. Five years later, our eldest son Chance got engaged in the same spot. Needless to say, love discovered on our property is abundant.
This growing love seems dormant in winter but patiently awaits spring, bringing new life to our land — new babies, blooming trees and bushes, fruits ripening, and fields turning into hay and grain. Each step of this journey has its own magnificent beauty. This is the love that grows.
My wedding was one of life’s most memorable moments, not just because I married my dreams, but because we wed under a vast Alberta sky with our closest friends and family. It was a weekend event — friends and family from Alberta and BC set up campers and tents, spending the whole weekend with us. Local friends joined for the day. What I remember most is everyone coming together to make our day unforgettable. Our honeymoon suite was a forest tent — not elegant, but it had a queen-size bed, champagne, and each other. Simple and elegant. With a quarter section, we placed it far from the party. The first night together in raw nature was unlike anything before — quiet, serene, and wild. After our wedding, friends and family asked to stay in our tent for a night.
My journey into the glamping industry began when friends said they would pay to experience wilderness camping. Others agreed. We wanted to share this with the world through GLAMPING. “Big thank you to Amber and Jamie for nudging us down this path.”
